POINT PLEASANT BEACH, NJ — The Point Pleasant Beach Planning Board is set to meet Wednesday night to review a report designating part of the borough in the area of Arnold and Richmond avenues in need of rehabilitation.

The special meeting of the Planning Board is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday at Borough Hall, and is the first of two meetings on reports designating areas of the town in need of rehabilitation. The second is set for 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

The issue that has resulted in the “area in need of rehabilitation” designation is concerns about the water and sewer infrastructure, which is more than 50 years old in the majority of the area. There are 211 lots included in the Arnold-Richmond report, the report says.

The review of the reports will then give borough officials a starting point for addressing the issues.

The second area, subject of the Sept. 20 meeting, is the Inlet.
