Where to buy advent calendars for dogs in the UK

You can buy dog advent calendars from specialist pet retailers, high-street stores and even at most supermarkets when you shop for your groceries. They’re available online from all of these, from the brand websites themselves and also of course, from Amazon.

We found the advent calendars for our round-up at:

How much do advent calendars for dogs cost?

Dog advent calendars are available at a range of price points, from just a few pounds for those with the same treat each day, up to £50 and more for handmade calendars that will see you through many festive seasons.

Mid-range calendars cost around £10 – £15 and contain more than one variety of treats. These are usually meaty chews, rather than carob chocolate and have 24 or 25 doors to open.

The dog advent calendars in our round-up range from £2.50 to £59.60.

How to make a dog treat advent calendar

There are a few ways to go about this, depending on how much effort you want to put in.

However, we’d say that this method from Time for Paws is the easiest way to go about it: you get 24 individual pouches made from a dog-friendly material and fill each one with a treat.

If you fancy, you can even wrap the pouches in something like tissue paper so that your dog can tear each treat open.

Then hang each pouch on a board or wall (anywhere your dog can’t reach), and dish out a festive treat a day.

What happens if I eat my dog’s advent calendar chocolate?

This is something that has been googled, and all we can say is that you will most likely be fine if you eat dog chocolate, which is primarily made of Carob, a common chocolate alternative that has health benefits.

However, we can’t say that people won’t judge you for it — least of all your dog whose chocolate you’ve stolen.
