List of Holidays in 2024 By Central Government
Central Government Holiday List 2024: Counting holidays are normal. The Central Government has released a list of holidays for the upcoming year. This list is a blend of national and international celebrations, religious festivals, historical events and other regional observances.
As per the Office Memorandum of July 3, 2023, all the Central Government Administrative Offices located in Delhi/New Delhi in 2024 will observe around 17 gazetted holidays. Other than this, there will be a few restricted holidays as well.
You can prepare your calendar and also plan your weekend with the help of the below tables of gazetted and restricted holidays.
Gazetted Holidays of 2023
A holiday that has been formally declared by the government and published in the official gazette is known as a gazetted holiday. This indicates that the government and other public institutions across the nation recognise and honour it as a national holiday.

There are just three national holidays in India Republic Day (January 26), Independence Day (15 August), and Gandhi Jayanti (2 October) despite the country’s vast cultural heritage. In major regions of India, along with other state holidays, over thirty great festivals are observed. States have regional celebrations based on the language and religious populations that predominate there.
